Who developed Family Health Tracker (FHT)?
FHT was developed by ExitCare, LLC, a leading provider of patient education solutions to over 1,000 hospitals in the USA. After seeing features provided in the ExitCare software, several consumers approached ExitCare requesting a system that would provide these same features to consumers. These features included patient education documents in multiple languages and the ability to manage complex medication regimens.

How much does Family Health Tracker cost?
Detailed information on pricing can be found in the Pricing Tab. In summary, the cost is $5 per month per profile (billed annually). Although other companies offer personal health records (PHRs)at little or no cost, FHT guarantees never to sell your information (including email address), never to allow advertising on the FHT web site and promises to use the latest technology to protect the data in your profile.

Is the data I enter into my Family Health Tracker profile secure?
Yes, your profile is secure. FHT uses state-of-the-art encryption technologies to protect your data. Because FHT does not have data fields for sensitive areas like social security number or credit card information, no one could access such data even in a worst case scenario.

Why should I choose Family Health Tracker?
You should choose FHT because it has all the features you need to manage your family’s health. You will have dedicated FHT support. It is a system created for you and managed by you. All companies must make money at some time; with FHT you know what it will cost and have guarantees no one else can match. Others encourage you to enter your data into their sites and will either not offer the same data security guarantees or will not tell you how much they intend to charge you in the future for the use of their software.

Do you allow others to “mine” my personal data?
Absolutely not – no one will have access to your data, even in aggregate.

How does data get into my profile?
Today, the information must be entered manually into your profile. This can be done by you, or you can grant access to another individual. By July 1, 2009, Family Health Tracker will have a function to import data, such as PDF’s and attach them to specific medical events.

Who has access to the information in my Family Health Tracker profile?
Only people you grant access. You can grant read-only or read/write access to anyone for your personal profile or other profiles within your PHR. You decide who has access and the date range relevant for the access being granted. You can also create and print an Emergency Access Card so emergency medical personnel can have read-only access your medical data in case of an emergency.

What kind of data can I enter into my Family Health Tracker profile?
FHT comes with the ability to enter data on many health events, medications and appointments. You can enter expense and home monitoring data such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight. You can even create your own variables to track data important to you.

Why should I enter medication data in Family Health Tracker?
When you enter your medications into FHT, it automatically checks for drug interactions. If you have any drug allergies, FHT will also check to see if the medications you are taking interact with your allergies. New adverse reactions are being added to the FHT database regularly. Should a new one appear based on the medications you are taking, you will promptly receive an email alert to check your FHT profile. If there is major new information on a drug you are taking, such as a new warning or the drug being taken off the market, you will receive an email to check your FHT profile. If you are taking multiple medications and have trouble monitoring your medication schedule, you can print out a weekly Medication Schedule with dates, times and check boxes to help you track the taking of your medications. Drug information sheets are available to be viewed and printed as well.

Why should I enter future appointments and reminders in my Family Health Tracker profile?
If you have appointments in the future, you can enter them in you profile, and have FHT send you a reminder email. When you set up the event, you decide if you want an email reminder one to five days before the event, or even the day of the event.

Will I ever receive unsolicited emails from Family Health Tracker? Will FHT sell my email address?
When certain types of events occur, you will receive an email from FHT instructing you to check your message box within your profile. Examples of messages that could be posted in your message box include:
- When a new drug interaction is identified, based on medications in your personal profile.
- When there is significant news regarding a medication you are taking.
- When a new medication has been released by the FDA, and, based on the medications you are already taking, knowing about this new drug could be important to you.
- If you are over 55, you will receive a notice in October reminding you to get a flu shot.
- When, based on dates entered in your profile, you or one of your family members needs to receive a vaccine. This could be based on the age of a child and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations on vaccines, or maybe your own personal Tetanus booster which should be updated every ten years.
- You will also receive email reminders that you scheduled.
- You will receive a message when your annual license is about to expire.
The email we send you will never contain personal information – it will only ask you to check your personal message box which is where the details will be. FHT will NEVER sell or otherwise make available your email address to anyone – guaranteed.

What if I have a problem? What are my support options?
At this time, support is via email to Support@FamilyHealthTracker.com. Beginning July 1, 2009, there will also be live telephone support via a toll-free number during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Time.

What kind of documents/reports can I print?
You can access and print thousands of patient education documents and drug specific information sheets. You can also generate and print reports based on a date range or your choice of numerous data fields.
